Etching: A type of gravure printing. First, an acid-resistant protective layer is added to the metal plate, and then the pattern is engraved on the surface to expose the metal underneath. When a metal plate is placed in an acid bath, the exposed nicks will be corroded by the acid. After the protective layer is washed off, the pattern will be scored on the board, ready for ink to be applied and printed with a printer.
