Artist: Kwood
https://images2.imgbox.com/66/c6/wVo3QFy7_o.jpeg
Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1983, Kwood's background in craft design led him to wander the streets of Japan, where he witnessed the warm and profound vitality that woodcraft art infused into ancient alleyways. These objects, resembling fragments of time, carry traces of history and the contours of the future, seeking a delicate balance between opposition and harmony. This translates into refined works that tightly connect the perspective of the new generation with the simplicity of the old era. Agarwood, once ground into powder for its scent, is revered in Japan and placed in prominent, sunlit areas of homes, symbolizing vitality and light.
The agarwood is sourced directly from its origin, pure and unblemished, free from artificial processes like boiling glue, drawing lines, or adding fragrances. It is presented in its most natural form. Through ancient scent-extraction techniques, the outer layer of deadwood is meticulously peeled away by hand, revealing the true soul of the agarwood. This not only imbues it with eternal vitality but also allows tradition and modern craftsmanship to subtly intertwine in the fingertips, culminating in a feast for the senses. The rich fragrance is like a distillation of time, gently drawing together past memories and future aspirations, allowing them to meet and resonate within the scent, lingering endlessly, profound and deep.
