Moreover, through the passage of time, they can develop a completely different character. In 2017, we took over a leather goods factory in Miaoli that was on the verge of closing. With no prior experience, we gradually developed the techniques for crafting leather goods. We fell in love with the way genuine leather transforms over time, becoming richer in color, warm, and uniquely beautiful. Introduction to Cowhide Used| ◆ Vegetable Tanning This refers to leather treated with natural agents. It possesses a warmer hue and more apparent pores. Compared to leather treated with chemical agents, cowhide treated this way has a milder scent. Its characteristic is that it becomes more lustrous with use, developing a completely different aesthetic from its initial appearance. This transformation process is sometimes called "leather cultivation." This characteristic of changing color with use is highly favored by a segment of consumers. Vegetable-tanned leather also comes in grades; those with richer oils and fewer scars are of higher quality and command a higher price. High-grade vegetable-tanned leather primarily originates from Europe, where most of RamahLeatherware's leather comes from, with a small portion from South America. Scars are more evident in leather treated with natural agents. Please view these scars rationally; naturally, RamahLeatherware avoids over 90% of them. ◆ Care Instructions - If used regularly, no additional maintenance is required. If left unused for extended periods, in Taiwan's humid climate, it is prone to mold. Please store it in a dry, well-ventilated environment or a dehumidifying cabinet. ◆ If the leather gets wet, avoid placing it in direct sunlight or using a hairdryer. Rapid drying can make the leather brittle and hard; allow it to air dry. If accidentally rained on, watermarks will be noticeable.
