It functions as a clutch bag, with a roll-top closure that allows for size adjustment. The leather is finished to be both firm and soft, making it comfortable to hold and easy to carry. Its simple design makes it a versatile bag for both men and women, easily coordinating with various outfits. When folded, it becomes flat like a paper bag, making it easy to carry as a secondary bag. A leather stiffener is inserted at the bottom inside of the bag to maintain its shape. The hardware for securing the bottom stiffener is attached on the inside, creating a clean finish without exposed metal parts. To achieve the texture of paper, the leather, normally 1.5mm thick, is sliced to 0.5-0.6mm. Special processing is applied to the back of the leather to ensure strength is not compromised. This prevents any leather dust from shedding. Unlike the wrinkled finish of cowhide used previously, this leather is a smooth-finished, high-quality, domestically produced horsehide with an oil finish. Generously infused with oil during the tanning process, the leather will gradually develop a beautiful sheen as the oil settles with use, showcasing its natural aging process. Horsehide, with its thick and long fibers, offers a suppleness and durability unmatched by other leathers. Its smooth, almost clinging texture, combined with its strength even when thinly sliced, meets all the essential requirements for the KAMIBUKURO design. You may notice areas that appear like stains; however, as this is a natural material, variations in dye absorption can cause differences in color intensity.
