A high-quality wool cardigan like this can truly see me through an entire winter. Some pieces of clothing always hold a special place in your wardrobe, alongside minimalist coats and white shirts. I believe a simple, versatile short cardigan should be next on that list. Several years ago, I bought a gray short cardigan from COS that I absolutely loved. Though its texture was a little rough, it was exceptionally warm. I find myself reaching for it on every outing or when the weather turns a bit cool, even in winter. When a sweater alone isn't enough to keep me warm, I'll layer it over another piece. I've always kept in mind that if I could find the right wool yarn, I'd stock up in a few more colors for myself. Of course, it would need a flattering, softly curved crew neckline (a round neck offers endless styling possibilities). Fortunately, we've finally found the wool yarn we were searching for. We personally selected the wool yarn, and the colors were finalized after extensive sampling. It's 100% fine Australian wool yarn, with a soft, skin-friendly feel (virtually no itchiness associated with wool) and a cashmere-like texture. About the Buttons: When developing this cardigan, I was determined to use marble-patterned buttons. The interplay of natural textures would add a touch of playfulness to a simple cardigan. However, bringing this idea to fruition was not as straightforward as we'd imagined. We contacted three different button manufacturers for samples, a process that took over two months and resulted in numerous prototypes. Unfortunately, the outcomes were consistently disappointing. Resin buttons couldn't capture the texture and veining of marble, and most factories lacked the craftsmanship for stone buttons. Later, on a trip to Guangzhou, my partner discovered a trim store specializing in jade accessories. There, he found turquoise buttons with the perfect texture. They possessed natural veining and a smooth, warm feel, but at a significant price—each button costing three yuan. While we did eventually manage to produce ideal marble buttons through other means, at a lower cost, we ultimately felt we couldn't compromise on quality for the sake of price. Once this vision took hold, we couldn't let it go.
