Etching is a style of printing created by carving an image into a metal plate and sub-
merging it into acid to deepen the lines of the carving. The carved lines hold the ink,
with deeper lines producing more saturated color, while shallow lines produce a softer
effect. This technique was famously practiced by legendary artists like Rembrandt and
Picasso and produces beautiful complexly textured images.
In a world of digital images, a handmade print created using traditional technologies is a
truly unique and personal work of art – each illustration is individually printed with love
and care and made special by the tiny quirks and differences naturally created by the
process.
