Chawan

This tea bowl was made in my small pottery workshop in Taiwan. I work from my roof top that overlooks a mountain range called Yamingshan. The mountains are a constant source of inspiration. This chawan was made from local clay and then I splashed a shino glaze on the outside. The inside also is glazed with a different colored shino. The foot ring has been hand carved adding to the uniqueness of the piece. I believe that a handmade tea bowl should reflect the process. My seal is stamped near the foot ring.
