The unique peacock feather patterns and flowing texture emerge from the precise control of each glaze's thickness and the firing process at 1260°C, a fiery transformation lasting 20 hours. During this time, the glaze contracts and flows within the kiln, creating the distinctive markings. The challenge in its creation lies in the delicate balance of glaze thickness and temperature control. Glazes that are too thin or fired at insufficient temperatures fail to produce the "peacock display" pattern. Conversely, glazes that are too thick or fired at excessive temperatures can cause the glaze to run onto the accompanying plate, potentially damaging both the cup and the plate. Even ambient temperature fluctuations can influence the final outcome. Despite years of dedicated practice, achieving absolute precision in its variations remains elusive, yet it is precisely this unpredictability that imbues each finished piece with its precious value. It is hoped that this work will inspire everyone to embrace hope when facing challenges, to persevere with unwavering effort, and to one day unfurl their own beautiful "feathers," illuminating their lives with brilliance.
