Hetian Jade is a metamorphic rock formed by the contact metasomatism between magnesian marble and intermediate-acid magmatic rocks. It contains aggregates of minerals such as tremolite, amphibole, and actinolite. Its chemical composition is a hydrated calcium magnesium silicate, with the chemical formula Ca2(Mg,Fe)5[Si8O22](OH)2. Its density ranges from 2.95 to 3.17, and its Mohs hardness is between 6.0 and 6.5.
