|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
Jade nourishes the body for three years, and in turn, jade nourishes the person for a lifetime.
Crystals possess a powerful magnetic field that requires regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is known for its gentle and soft properties. While its magnetic field may not be as strong as that of crystals, jadeite's energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been discovered within jadeite. Its chemical composition is sodium aluminum silicate—NaAI〔Si2 O6〕, often containing trace elements such as Calcium (Ca), Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Magnesium (Mg), and Iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and divalent iron.
Yellow: Contains elemental iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily distributed in bones and teeth, with its presence also noted in blood and muscles. Calcium is a crucial regulator of vital bodily activities, fulfilling important physiological functions throughout all stages of life, from youth to adulthood and into old age. It is an indispensable macromineral for maintaining human health and longevity.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is of considerable importance in maintaining normal physiological functions. It helps prevent cardiovascular diseases and aids in regulating blood sugar. The human body cannot synthesize it independently, requiring absorption through natural foods or supplements. For individuals with type 2 diabetes, chromium can enhance insulin sensitivity. It assists those who are overweight in managing cholesterol and blood sugar levels. Chromium is lost at a faster rate in individuals experiencing high stress compared to others, making it particularly vital for these three groups.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. Adults typically have about 6-10 mg of nickel, mainly concentrated in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed nickel mostly excreted in feces. Only 10-20% of nickel from food is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another type of trace element that protects the body. Jadeite also contains this element. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent certain age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is also a macromineral essential for the human body. Like calcium, magnesium is a necessary nutrient for normal bone growth. Sufficient magnesium effectively regulates calcium and maintains normal neuromuscular function, with both elements having a synergistic effect. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so a deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation within the body and is associated with the development of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Some studies have shown that individuals who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have a lower mortality rate from cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels lowers the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements." Adult bodies typically contain 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% distributed in red blood cells. Other cells also rely on iron for smooth operation.
Medical research has revealed the remarkable therapeutic capabilities of jadeite. Prolonged wear of jadeite can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate and even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: For individuals with weaker constitutions who sometimes experience chest tightness, wearing a jadeite pendant can offer relief. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest. Through continuous massage, it can achieve a lasting effect.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to have the following benefits: "clearing internal heat, moistening the heart and lungs, nourishing hair, nourishing the five organs, calming the spirit, unblocking blood vessels, and improving eyesight."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of physiological functions in various organs.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite accessories, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite enter the body through this contact, nourishing the skin and making women appear fairer and more radiant.
Cooling relief: The cool properties of jadeite provide a therapeutic touch that soothes and relieves heat. In the Tang Dynasty, Yang Guifei would hold jade in her mouth during the summer to relieve heat. Since then, summer has been associated with coolness. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used for their cooling effects.
The above are evidence-based reasons for valuing jadeite. Another, non-evidence-based reason is that when one feels down or stressed, looking at jadeite can bring an inexplicable sense of comfort and healing, as if receiving solace.
