Crafted from fine-grained white clay, its smooth texture allows the glaze's color to shine. This bowl combines that with a warm, comforting Sakura Kagen glaze, offering a matte finish and a cozy, subdued hue. The plump, rounded form is endearingly cute, fitting perfectly into the curve of your hands when held. The smooth glaze has a subtle warmth. It's ideal for matcha, hearty soups, or rich stews. All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisquing, glazing, and firing, are done entirely by hand in my home studio, which is equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. The rounded, plump silhouette, the slightly rustic texture, and the satisfying weight convey the authentic feel of pottery. While mass production isn't possible, each piece has its own unique character, offering the distinctive charm of handcrafted items. The item you receive will be the one shown in the product images. There are currently 2 pieces in stock. As each bowl has subtle variations in color and form, photos of both pieces are provided at the end of the product images. Piece 1 has a slightly yellowish, deeper hue, while Piece 2 has a lighter coloration. If both pieces are available, you may select your preferred one by notifying us at the time of purchase. (If no preference is specified, one will be chosen for you.) The base of the bowl will be polished with sandpaper to minimize any potential scratching of your table. I continuously explore new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a variety of pottery with diverse colors and shapes. Each piece is unique, a close resemblance to others but truly one-of-a-kind. Therefore, all our items undergo a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant before shipping, eliminating the need for pre-soaking (metome). This treatment requires 2-3 days to complete, which is why our shipping window is set at 5 days from order placement. Please inform us at the time of purchase if you do not require this waterproofing treatment. - Cutlery shown in the product images is not included. - Product images are taken and edited to be as true to the actual product as possible.
