Let us fulfill your wish and take you through time and space to experience the fun of ancient stargazing!
⭐️ U.S. STEM.org Certified ⭐️
Constructed from exceptionally high-quality, eco-friendly wood, this model faithfully recreates the astrolabe's three core structures: the Armillary Sphere (outer), the Equator Armillary (middle), and the Horizon Armillary (inner). Through the precise assembly of these rings, you can personally operate an ancient astronomical model, observe the positions and trajectories of celestial bodies, and experience the stargazing methods of ancient astronomers. It's an astronomical teaching tool that is both collectible and educational.
This astrolabe has received U.S. STEM.org certification and was selected as one of the top 100 STEAM toys by Parent's Magazine. Each component is precisely calibrated by engineers, ensuring smooth assembly and fluid rotation, allowing learning to transcend theory and foster an understanding of astronomy, physics, and structural principles through practical, hands-on creation. It's an indispensable cross-disciplinary STEAM practical tool for families, students, science enthusiasts, and history buffs alike.
💡 A Little Astrolabe Knowledge 💡
The astrolabe was improved and designed by the Eastern Han Dynasty scientist Zhang Heng, based on the "Hun Tian theory" to construct a celestial model: the sky is like an eggshell, the earth is like the yolk, and the celestial bodies revolve within it. To prove that the astrolabe could accurately measure celestial phenomena, Zhang Heng once pointed out the positions of stars indoors according to the astrolabe's orientation, and the results matched outdoor observations, confirming that the astrolabe could indeed be used for real celestial measurements.
"Can the armillary sphere truly observe celestial phenomena?" In Zhang Heng's era, people posed the same question. To demonstrate its capability, he conducted an indoor test, accurately identifying the positions of stars based on the celestial orientations displayed by the astrolabe. This matched the celestial phenomena observed outdoors, convincing everyone that the astrolabe could accurately measure the heavens!
