It is not recommended to use earthenware in electric steamers, microwaves, ovens, or over direct flame. If the ceramicware is to be used as tableware, it must be rinsed and cleaned of any surface dirt before the first use. When cleaning, use a sponge or soft dishcloth with a mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive materials like steel wool, which can scratch the surface. Afterward, wipe with a dry cloth and allow to air dry in a ventilated area to prevent mildew. 3.
