Material Description: The 14k gold-filled material predominantly used at mixandfun features a layer of 1/20 14k gold electroplated onto a brass base. This is a popular choice in recent years, known for being relatively easy to care for, maintaining its color for a longer period, and offering a more accessible price point compared to solid K gold. Solid 14k gold, on the other hand, is entirely crafted from 14k gold, both inside and out, with a gold content of approximately 58.5%. The remaining composition includes silver, iron, or copper. For Taiwan's climate, this material is even easier to maintain, and its color presents with a more refined subtlety. Solid 14k gold is also a consideration for those with sensitive skin. Specially plated alloy is another material we frequently utilize. mixandfun carefully selects unplated chains that we personally favor, then applies a special electroplating process. Under normal wear conditions, the color of these pieces tends to be long-lasting. Wearing Precautions: 1. Always put on your jewelry after dressing and remove it before changing into loungewear. It is not recommended to wear jewelry while bathing. Soaking in hot springs and swimming are strongly discouraged. 2. For earrings, we recommend attaching the included silicone stoppers to minimize the chance of loss. 3. Given Taiwan's warm and humid climate, if jewelry is not to be worn for an extended period, gently wipe it with a soft cloth before storing it in a sealed bag. 4. For delicate chains, make it a habit to fasten the clasp when removing them. This helps reduce the likelihood of tangling. 5. Please understand that 14k gold-filled, solid 14k gold, or specially plated alloy pieces will naturally show signs of wear over time. 6. A Little Care Tip: If you notice any oxidation on your jewelry one day, don't panic. You can prepare a bowl with some water, add a pinch of salt, and a small piece of aluminum foil. Place your solid K gold or sterling silver jewelry in the mixture for about 10 minutes, then remove and dry. It should typically regain its shine. (Material compositions may vary slightly between brands.) It is advisable to start with less expensive silver pieces for this method. 7. You can place solid K gold or general alloy jewelry in your palm, dip an old toothbrush in a small amount of toothpaste, and gently brush the piece for about half a minute.
