Ñandutí, in the local Guaraní language, means "spider web." As the name suggests, it is a delicate handicraft made with thread. Patterns are created by stretching a base thread and then weaving or knotting another thread into it. Once the embroidery is glued and stiffened, and the embroidered part is detached from the fabric, Ñandutí is complete. To the touch, it feels quite firm and moderately stiff, maintaining its shape while retaining the softness of the thread's texture.
