These are SDGs jewelry pieces featuring Kintsugi, upcycled from pottery by Matsuundō kiln (Shōun-zan gama), crafted in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Broken or chipped pottery, no longer in use, is upcycled and repaired with Kintsugi to create new accessories. The concept behind these pieces is to bring the beauty of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future and unlock new possibilities. We've paired elegant light blue pottery fragments with lapis lazuli. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to shimmer beautifully from every angle and adding a touch of refined elegance. These pieces are perfect as a unique accent to elevate both casual and elegant outfits. This work uses a modern, simplified Kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional Kintsugi which uses natural lacquer derived from the sap of the lacquer tree, this piece uses adhesive for the primary bonding.
