Broken or chipped pottery that is no longer in use is upcycled and repaired with kintsugi to create new accessories. Delicate fragments, with a subtle glimpse of floral patterns, are paired with pale pink freshwater pearls. The pottery fragments have a calm, muted hue, reminiscent of a soft pinkish-grey. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to catch the light from the side and enhance the overall refined aesthetic. This work uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional urushi lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree, this method uses adhesive for bonding.
