The transparent glaze gracefully adorns the vessel with a lustrous sheen. A dark brown glaze has been applied to the rim for a tasteful accent. The interior is a lighter, off-white shade, allowing you to appreciate the colors of transparent beverages like green tea or black tea. All processes, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing, are meticulously done by hand in our studio, equipped with a small electric kiln and a potter's wheel. To minimize any potential scratching of your table surfaces, the base has been carefully sanded smooth. Please note that the color may appear more grey in the soft light of morning or on a cloudy day, and lean towards a greige tone in the light of midday, evening, or indoor lamps. The appearance can vary depending on the light source. We continuously explore new combinations of glazes and clays, creating a diverse range of ceramics in various colors and shapes. To address this, all our tableware undergoes a waterproofing treatment with a food-safe sealant, eliminating the need for initial seasoning (metzuke). This waterproofing process requires 2-3 days, hence our shipping timeframe of 5 days from order placement.
