Cameras "KIEV" have been produced since 1947 at Arsenal plant (the city of Kiev, Soviet Union). It was just a copies of Zeiss Contax cameras. High reliability, excellent optics, capability to shoot at low temperature (it can work in a Russian froze!), exchangeable lens - these are the conditions defined the usage of these cameras for pro-shooting. ITEM'S CONDITION: WELL-USABLE Condition is nice cosmetically & working, leatherette and chrome painting are complete even does not looks new. Examine item's photos please. The shutter is working fine. The lens is mostly clean, no fungus, no scratches, but minor separation is presented at the front optical element (looks like tiny white dot), you can see it item's photos. Aperture is smooth, aperture's barrel rotates with clicks opposite whole aperture's meanings. Exposure-meter looks in working condition, but however I never can be sure that such deice still really accurate. Viewfinder is sharp, bright and clean, rangefinder looks correct. Self timer works properly. All functions are available. TECHNICAL FEATURES * Brand: Arsenal. * Model: Kiev-4 * Complex slit shutter off profiled metallic stripes. * Shutter speeds: B, 1/2-1/1250 sec., synchronization with flash at 1/25 and more long shutter speeds. * The camera has cable connection PC "synchro" socket only. * The lens: Jupiter-8M 1:2.0 F=50mm is a copy of Zeiss Sonnar, Contax external bayonet. * Lens mount: Contax type internal (for standard focus lenses) and external (for other lenses) bayonet. * Viewfinder is for 50mm lens. * Filter mount M 40.5 x 0.75 mm. * Tripod socket 1/4". * Self timer is presented. * Built-in exposure-meter helps You to define aperture and shutter speed, can be installed film speed from 8 to 500 units ASA. Exposure meter uses sunlight selenium battery, it need no any other power sources. Exposure-meter looks in working condition, but as usually I never can be sure that such type device will provide very accurate results. * The camera is a very nice in using and highly collectible. * The camera was made in USSR in 1975 at Kiev city.
