รายละเอียดสินค้า

**PAPUA NEW GUINEA SIGRI ESTATE A 18+** Varietal: Typica, Bourbon Grade: A18+ Region: Wahgi Valley, Western Highlands Province Estate: Sigri Estate Altitude: 1,500 m Processing Method: Washed Flavor Profile: Citrus, Black Plum, Nuts, Chocolate, Creamy. Smooth, full-bodied, clean, and balanced. **【About Sigri Estate】** The coffee seedlings at Sigri Estate were introduced from Jamaica in the 1930s as Typica varietals. What's most captivating is the distinct layering and delicate nuances of its flavor profile. The coffee is cultivated in the Wahgi Valley, known as the "Central Highlands of Papua New Guinea," at an altitude of over 1,500 meters. Using a medium-density planting method, the coffee is grown under the shade of trees of varying heights. This allows the coffee beans to receive adequate sunlight while also providing a habitat for over 90 species of local birds. Once the coffee cherries ripen, they are meticulously hand-picked, with careful inspection for any defective beans. Following this, the traditional three-stage washing process is employed to remove the skin and pulp. The beans are then placed on greenhouse racks to naturally sun-dry to the standard moisture content, before being stored in specialized containers. **【Regional Characteristics】** Papua New Guinea (P.N.G.) is located east of the Indonesian archipelago and is the world's second-largest island. The national flag of Papua New Guinea is composed of two equal triangles, red and black, which are also traditional colors of its ethnic groups. A yellow bird of paradise, also known as the "bird of paradise," is depicted on the flag, representing a bird endemic to Papua New Guinea. Papua New Guinea's warm, humid climate and predominantly highland terrain are ideal for coffee cultivation. The vast majority of coffee farmers are smallholders who do not use artificial fertilizers or chemical sprays; all farms naturally manage pest control. The local community utilizes the traditionally preserved three-stage washing method, involving three washes within a 24-hour period. This process effectively removes the coffee pulp. Subsequently, natural sun-drying achieves the standard moisture content, and the beans are then stored with their parchment intact, resulting in richer mouthfeel and enhanced flavor! **【New Grading System】** Papua New Guinea's national coffee regulatory body has implemented a new, simplified coffee grading standard. This new framework eliminates a significant barrier that prevented smallholder farmers from achieving the highest grades. Recent workshops have been held to inform stakeholders about the revised standards. Published by the Coffee Industry Corporation (CIC) in late 2020 and approved by the National Institute of Standards and Industrial Technology (NISIT), the new grading standard aims to address price discrimination against smallholder farmers in the coffee industry. Before this reform, smallholder farmers, regardless of quality, were unable to attain the country's highest grade (AA) unless they operated large coffee estates, leading to unequal treatment. In addition to removing this restriction, the revised green bean standards and new policy guidelines simplify the grading of Arabica coffee beans into five categories: A, B, Y, Y2, and Y3. However, the three high-quality grades (A, B, Y) are now supplemented with numerical suffixes to indicate screen size (e.g., 18+, 17+, 15+, 15, 14+). These improved standards ensure that smallholder coffee growers receive the grades they deserve based on the quality of the coffee they produce. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53873103724_9f7efc217e_o_d.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53871850452_a9f92fbaf9_o_d.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53872755731_244938168a_o_d.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53873169780_41d8ceb1ea_o_d.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53872755691_11c6505655_o_d.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53873103659_17e7fd27d2_o_d.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53872755686_722f35ed7e_o_d.jpg
