<A unique beauty that brings you happiness>
In the past, when people living in Watari, Miyagi Prefecture, gave gifts, they would place them in a "bag" made from leftover scraps of old kimonos. For example, it might have been a measure of rice given as a celebration or a return gift. There was no set name, and "fukuro" (bag) was slurred into "fuguro."
"FUGURO" is a remake that recreates this traditional custom. The material is kimono fabric with auspicious patterns, carefully selected from thousands of kimonos sleeping in chests. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, imbuing it with the wish for the recipient's happiness.
We deliver a unique beauty that brings you happiness, by sewing the spirit of gratitude into our products, embodying the elegant custom of wrapping and gifting precious items.
Two colors of thread are used, matching the colors of the outer and inner fabrics. Please enjoy the beautiful stitching that is pleasing to the eye.
<Yabane (Arrow Feather) Pattern> "Success in life," "Romance fulfilled," "Enduring good fortune in battle."
The arrow feather is said to pierce the heart of the target, as it is shot while rotating to hit the mark.
<Japanese Gifts>
As the material is kimono fabric, a symbol of Japanese culture, these items are also used as Japanese souvenirs when taken overseas or as gifts for international visitors. They are compact and convenient to carry. An explanatory card with bilingual (Japanese/English) text is included.
<Versatile Uses>
Use it as a bag-in-bag, a small pouch for keys or supplements. Fill it with snacks for your office refresh break. Display it as interior decor in your living room. It's enjoyable to think of various ways to use it. It can be used in many ways depending on the user's ideas. It can also be used as a reversible item.
<The Joy of Gazing, The Pleasure of Collecting>
The kimono fabric with auspicious patterns that delight the eyes is an item that brings images of happiness just by looking at it. By collecting your favorite pieces, you can enjoy creating your own personal gallery.

<Let's Contribute to Clothing Upcycling Together>
WATALIS has collected and remade over 12 tons of old kimono fabric to date.
By picking up our creations, kimono fabrics that have been sleeping in chests across the country find new roles. We are active with gratitude towards our customers who help us expand the cycle of upcycling.
We introduce our regional resource upcycling initiatives in a video.

<Notes on Purchase>
* As all items are handmade, please understand that each piece is unique and may vary slightly in size, shape, and pattern.
* In rare cases where we obtain exceptionally well-preserved kimono fabric, we may produce multiple items from the same fabric. Please understand that the pattern may differ slightly from the photo due to the cutting position of the fabric.
* Please note that the color and texture may appear different from the actual product on your screen. If you have any concerns, please contact us or refrain from purchasing.
* As the kimono fabric used as material is often vintage and lacks markings, the exact material cannot always be identified. Furthermore, the fabric is thoroughly inspected and processed (washed, etc.) before being remade. Please handle with care, as some fabrics may fade or shrink when wet.
* As these items are also sold on other sites, please forgive us if they are out of stock.
