Imported from Israel. Natural Olive Wood Grain. One of a Kind. Hand-woven by Taiwanese Artisans. Olive trees, growing in the Holy Land, can live for up to 2,000 years. Since ancient times, the olive tree has been revered and proclaimed a blessed tree. In the Bible, Noah sent a dove from the ark to find dry land, and the dove returned with an olive leaf (the dove symbolizing the Holy Spirit). People planted olive trees throughout the Holy Land, using olive oil for sacrifices, and prophets and kings used it to enhance their power and for healing prayers. Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36), and some say the olive tree near where he prayed still exists today. We did our best to find artists in Bethlehem to design and produce unique hand carvings. Knowing its strength, this beautiful wood represents the profound symbol of the olive tree as an emblem of eternity. The metal is engraved with "Saint Christopher Protect Us". Saint Christopher Christopher, whose original name was Offrus, was a strong man who vowed to serve the most powerful king in the world. He first sought out the King of Canaan, then the devil. When he discovered that the devil feared the cross, he recognized Jesus as the most powerful king. Not suited to the life of a hermit, he instead chose to help others at the river, carrying them across as his way of serving Jesus. One day, a child asked Christopher to help him cross the river. Christopher was startled to find the child so heavy that he could barely carry him. After a difficult crossing, he said to the child, "You are so heavy, it is as if I were carrying the whole world on my shoulders." The child replied, "You have carried not only the world, but also its Creator. I am Christ, your king." From then on, Offrus changed his name to Christopher, meaning "Christ-bearer". Inspired by this event, Christopher decided to embark on a missionary journey, which ultimately led to his martyrdom by a king who opposed Christianity.
