The striking "Akazonae" (Red Regiment) aesthetic is achieved through layers of red natural lacquer, clear lacquer, and intricate multi-layering. Akazonae refers to a type of military formation from Japan's Sengoku period, where entire units, from armor and banners to weapons, were adorned in red. This vibrant "fire element" red was used to decorate the banners and armor of the most aggressive or assault-focused troops. The original Kai Akazonae was founded by Tōramasa Ii, a retainer of Takeda Shingen, making Akazonae synonymous with the Takeda clan's forces. This pen is complemented by black reinforced polymer components and a special flexible clip design. The nib is a German Bock #250 (#6) rose gold steel nib, available in Extra Fine (EF), Fine (F), Medium (M), and Broad (B). It offers a more responsive writing experience than typical steel nibs, allowing you to express your unique style. For smaller or tighter handwriting, an EF or F nib is recommended.
