Flowering Quince is a classic Japanese bonsai material. Mature trees exhibit "Aragami" (rough bark) with a cracked, aged appearance. Frequently featured in major bonsai exhibitions. Blooms year-round, with peak flowering in autumn and winter. The elegant cream-white flowers are rarer. Easier to set fruit and produces more flowers than red varieties. Self-pollinating; fruit drops when it turns from green to yellow. Paired with the rustic beauty of a Shigaraki-yaki curved rim round pot.
