The knights are beautifully carved and made entirely of wood, just like the tops of kings and queens. Since the 1960s, Soviet chess has been made more simplistically, often without weights and with plastic elements (heads of knights and tops of kings and queens). Board 40x40 cm, square 46 mm. King 10 cm, pawn 5.5 cm. Weight 1.36 kg. Damages: white king has no its finial. Old model of Soviet chess set which had not been producing after the end 1950s. Since the artel as an economic unit was abolished in the second half of the 1950s, chess began to be produced by more enlarged enterprises, as a result of which the variety of chess sets and their quality fell.
