Based in Taiwan and residing in a charming old apartment in Taipei, they live a life immersed in the art of stamp making. Previously, they worked as an editor for magazines and books at a publishing house, and now focuses exclusively on stamp design. Each season, they release handmade original stamp collections, with their published portfolios ranging from no.1 to no.8, featuring over 100 stamps in the eighth collection. Their published books include: "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stamp Carvers: Next Stamp Class." Primarily using erasers as their carving medium, each stamp is patiently crafted with every single stroke. Chamal Garden's stamp designs often draw inspiration from everyday observations, landscapes and encounters during travels, and things they deeply appreciate (such as text, flowers, geometric patterns, nature, and architecture). They then deconstruct and combine these elements, employing multi-point lines and surfaces, minimalist primary and secondary lines, and foreign text, along with personally noted component symbols, to compose the stamp imagery. They enjoy combining stamps and colors, showcasing the unique interplay and repetition of large and small stamps. Many of their graphic designs are also derived from fragments of these stamps, extended through stamping and combinations into designs for items like postcards and washi tape.
