I also carried it with me when I went out, and its subtle fragrance brought me a sense of peace. My daughter often played with my mala and loved its scent. So one day, I used extra Palo Santo beads to weave a bracelet for her. In the story, the young man Wei Gu, guided by the old man's matchmaking, eventually married the daughter of the vegetable seller, whom the old man had spoken of years prior.
