Material Description: The 14k gold-filled material widely used in the mixandfun design studio is a layer of 1/20 14k gold plated onto a brass base. This is a popular material in recent years, known for being easier to care for and maintain, with a color that lasts longer. Its price is also more accessible compared to pure K gold. Pure 14k gold, on the other hand, is entirely made of 14k gold, both inside and out, with a gold content of approximately 58.5%. The remaining components are silver, iron, or copper. Given Taiwan's climate, caring for pure K gold is even more effortless, and its color presentation is more refined. It's also a consideration for those with sensitive skin. Specially plated alloy is another material I frequently use. mixandfun selectively chooses unplated chains that we personally favor and then specially electroplates them. Consequently, under normal wear conditions, the color can be preserved for a longer duration. Wearing Precautions: 1. Always wear your jewelry after dressing and remove it before changing into loungewear. It is not recommended to wear jewelry while bathing, and avoid hot springs and swimming altogether. 2. For earrings, it's recommended to use the included silicone stoppers to minimize the chance of loss. 3. Taiwan's climate is hot and humid. If your jewelry will not be worn for an extended period, gently wipe it with a soft cloth before storing it in a sealed bag. 4. For delicate chains, make it a habit to fasten the clasp when taking them off to reduce tangling. 5. For 14k gold-filled, pure 14k gold, or specially plated alloys, there will be signs of wear over time. Your understanding is appreciated. 6. A small care tip: If you suddenly notice oxidation on your jewelry, don't panic. You can take an old bowl, add a little water and a pinch of salt, along with a small piece of aluminum foil typically found in kitchens. Submerge your pure K gold or sterling silver jewelry for about 10 minutes, then remove it. It should typically regain its shine. (Material ratios may vary slightly across different brands). It's advisable to start experimenting with less expensive silver pieces first. 7. You can place pure K gold or regular alloy jewelry in your palm. Dip an old toothbrush in a small amount of toothpaste and gently brush for about half a minute, then rinse with clean water. It should sparkle again.
