Taiwan Map Tapestry - Sacred Ridge Line The continuous ridge line connecting Dabajian Mountain to Xue Mountain, referred to by mountaineers as the "Xueba Line" or "Sacred Ridge Line," remains entirely above 3,100 meters in elevation. The name "Sacred Ridge" originates from Taro Kōno, a Japanese individual who compiled the "History of Taiwanese Mountaineering" during the Japanese colonial era. In 1927, he successfully climbed Dabajian Mountain and the following year, in his article "Investigation and Execution Regarding the Ascent of Dabajian Mountain," he wrote: "...This sacred ridge! Who can truly complete the traverse from Dabajian Mountain to Xue Mountain, wear the crown of victory, and speak of the truth and beauty of the first successful traverse..." Kōno's heartfelt exclamation not only named this mountain range but also made it one of the routes that has since attracted many mountain lovers to dream of visiting.
