Material: Italian vegetable-tanned cowhide. About the leather: Vegetable-tanned cowhide is a leather full of character. Vegetable tanning is one of the oldest methods, using tannins extracted from plants. The hides are repeatedly soaked in varying concentrations of tanning agents for one to two months. Free from harmful heavy metals or chemicals, this leather is skin-friendly and retains its natural texture. Over time, exposure to light and moisture allows the leather to develop a rich patina, deepen in color, and show unique signs of wear—a process often referred to as "breaking in" the leather. Leather de Home straps are crafted using traditional double-needle hand-stitching. Both the front and back are made from Italian vegetable-tanned leather, offering greater durability than machine-stitched alternatives.
