Due to variations in the thickness of the rush and the strength of the weaver's hand, the finished products exhibit different levels of fineness. Building upon traditional grading, and incorporating the finest available grade, we categorize rush-woven items by fineness into four levels: Coarse Weave (Classic), Medium Weave, Fine Weave, and Exquisite Weave. The Classic style is firm and sharp; the Medium weave is delicate and elegant. Weave density is measured in units of one 'cun' (one 'cun' = 3.03 cm). A 'row' is formed by the interlacing of the upper and lower rush strands. When the scent fades, it's a sign that it needs some sun. 3. Wipe Clean, Do Not Soak If cleaning is necessary, use a damp cloth to wipe the item. You can also use a mild detergent for cleaning. Never soak the item in water. 4.
