The ancient quartz originates from Afghanistan and dates back approximately 1500 years to the Roman era. It features a glaze with visible blue patterns, creating a charmingly dotted yet mysteriously atmospheric aesthetic. These are polished fragments of what were once vessels, now with holes drilled for jewelry. Their shapes and subtle color variations differ slightly between pieces. The worn, time-honored texture is utterly captivating(^^) As these were originally part of bangles, they possess a gentle curve. The small, thin beads are also Roman glass, exhibiting a beautiful iridescence. The various blue beads are antique beads known as Indo-Pacific beads. Their origins trace back to the 2nd century BCE, and these particular beads are excavated artifacts from Indonesia, dating to around the 10th century – making them over 1000 years old! The slight variations in bead size and hue make them endlessly fascinating. Paired with these are gently hued, faceted topaz and clear, double-terminated Herkimer diamonds. The golden beads, smaller accent beads, and clasp are all Karen silver.
