What is the wood firing process?** Clay from the USA, Japan, and Miaoli are mixed in varying proportions. The creation process involves pure hand-pinching (not a potter's wheel) to slowly shape the form. After basic shaping, the form is refined, then polished to complete the greenware. Once placed in the kiln, it undergoes a five-day, four-night continuous wood firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the work, forming a special ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's flame patterns swirl among the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame marks. After five days and four nights of ash and flame interplay, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form!
