**The 10/17 (Sat) session features the First Generation Menu**
Anyone who enjoys cocktails knows what classic cocktails are.
They have withstood the test of time, remaining staples on drink menus to this day.
Some are only a few decades old, while others are over two centuries old.
But have you ever wondered if no new cocktails have been born in modern times?
There have been, of course. Some newly created cocktails have started to circulate.
Several have already laid a foundation; this type of cocktail we call:
Modern Classic Cocktails
.
In this event, we will craft three modern classics.
The first-generation menu features gin, tequila, and whiskey:
.Gin-Gin Mule
Tired of Gin Tonics? Want to know how else you can change up the gin you have on hand?
Why not a Gin Mule? And what's the deal with the two "Gins"?
This is a modern classic created by Audrey Saunders in 2000, now 22 years old.
.Tommy's Margarita
A Margarita is a Margarita; why is there a "Tommy's" Margarita?
And this is a creation by Julio Bermejo in 1987 (now 35 years old).
Why is it named Tommy instead of Julio, and how is it different from a regular Margarita?
.Paper Plane
Sam Ross, the bartender who created the Penicillin,
also created a Paper Plane in 2007—a cocktail less known in Taiwan.
This is a bourbon-based cocktail inspired by the "Last Word," and it's only 15 years old!
Second Generation Menu:
.Earl Grey Martini
What? You don't drink Martinis because they're bitter and spicy?
Don't worry, the Earl Grey Martini is a sweet and tart delight!
This cocktail uses gin infused with Earl Grey tea,
adjusted for acidity and sweetness with freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey,
and finished with shaken egg white for a fluffy, soft texture.
Once finished, it's topped with torched lemon peel for notes of caramel and citrus.
Love tea-based cocktails? Have an Earl Grey Martini~
.Siesta
Are you tired? Have a Siesta!
Based on 100% pure tequila,
combined with the bittersweet Campari,
it differs from the bitter-rich Rosita
and the high-ABV Jasmine.
The Siesta uses two types of fresh fruit juice,
making it a refreshing way to fully enjoy the flavor of tequila~
.Shaft
The most classic cocktail featuring coffee liqueur is the Black Russian.
If you add fresh milk or other dairy products,
it becomes the "drunkard's latte"—the White Russian.
The Shaft is a twist on the White Russian,
using the new Mr. Black cold brew coffee liqueur,
paired with cold brew coffee capsules.
Experience a brand-new interpretation of the Black Russian, 50 years after its birth!
.
What magic do these cocktails, hailed as modern classics, possess
that allowed them to earn a ticket into the hall of fame for classic cocktails in such a short time?
Come to Mixology Co. to drink them and chat about them~
