Labradorite and Moonstone Pendant. Wire material: antique copper-toned artistic copper wire. Overall dimensions (L x W): 70 x 28mm. The recent labradorite creations were all made from stones acquired in the same batch. Each piece boasts excellent polish and a substantial thickness. The main stone in this particular piece is, in my personal opinion, the most striking from the entire batch. For me, the initial and ultimate appeal of labradorite has always been this kind of pure blue hue. However, it's not just about a deep blue with full luminescence; the depth and flow of the light, along with the influence of the inclusions, all contribute to a personal evaluation standard. Of course, intuition and aesthetic appeal are also crucial. Every gemstone chosen as a focal point is selected with this level of care and dedication. Returning to the piece itself, I opted for an antique copper tone to create a contrast with the gemstone's iridescence. Complementing it is a moonstone, which also exhibits a distinct blue sheen. I find their mutual resonance quite pleasing. The main stone features the woven bezel and curved lines characteristic of this new series. More intricate weaving has been applied to the moonstone and the bail, aiming to give both gemstones a similar prominence within the design. Some who have seen the finished piece have likened its overall posture to that of a classical beauty, her long hair cascading down, framing her face—an imaginative interpretation that I find quite charming.
