"Fu" and Dragon Motif Traditional Paste-Resist Dyeing, Eco-Friendly Plant Indigo Dye, Unisex Mandarin Collar Short-Sleeved Shirt

Indigo-dyed short-sleeved shirt, with a "Fu" character on the left chest and a dragon head on the right. This design is inspired by the Vietnam Jacket, a Vietnamese take on the "Souvenir Jacket." Popular in Western subcultures during the last century, especially within rock music and youth culture, its Eastern elements and unique background carry an aura of both allure and controversy. Today, as those times fade, these elements remain as retro pop culture symbols, small totems. We've applied this motif to clothing using the traditional paste-resist indigo dyeing technique, a tribute to the youth of the past. The traditional paste-resist plant indigo dyeing process involves applying paste to the garment using soy flour and stencils, followed by multiple dips in plant-based indigo dye. After washing away the soy flour and indigo sediment, the un-dyed pattern is revealed, with subtle traces remaining.
