About the Australian Animals Series: While on a road trip through Western Australia recently, I encountered numerous Emus and Kangaroos, the quintessential Australian animals, by the roadside. Drawing inspiration from these sights, I've created a series of tapestries and T-shirts featuring Australia's most iconic creatures. I've personified these animals, highlighting their charming contrasts. The crocodile, a carnivore, is depicted in shades of leafy greens; the koala, a sleeping beauty, snoozes 20 hours a day; the emu, with its long legs, is a marathon runner; and the kangaroo, too large to fit in its mother's pouch, is the freeloader still nursing on milk. 【About the Artist】Pei Xiao Ma "Pei" is my surname, and "Xiao Ma" (Little Horse) is a nickname I've used for a long time. When I'm not working, I'm an illustrator based in Australia.
