This bracelet is crafted by connecting old Tibetan turquoise, ancient agate, wine-red & indigo blue beads, along with old Chin silver & Orissa brass elements.
The old Tibetan turquoise pieces are approximately 100 to 200 years old, perhaps even older. They were acquired directly from individuals in Tibet.
Turquoise is also known as a "Fallen Skystone." Since antiquity, it has been revered as a protective talisman and a sacred stone across various cultures. In Tibet, it has historically been used medicinally. It is one of the stones passed down and worn for millennia.
This is natural turquoise, without any artificial coating.
Its deep coloration is particularly captivating.
(Turquoise dimensions: 0.9cm wide, 0.75cm high, 0.5cm thick)
Accents of milky, semi-transparent ancient agate with white banding have been incorporated. These pieces were unearthed in regions like Pakistan and India, along the Indus River, dating back approximately 2000 years. They showcase beautiful stripes and a lustrous finish.
The wine-red beads are antique Venetian beads, dating from around the 19th to 20th century. Two different sizes have been combined.
The indigo blue beads are antique beads known as Indo-Pacific beads. The origins of Indo-Pacific beads are traced back to the 2nd century BCE. These particular beads are unearthed artifacts from Indonesia, dating back an astonishing 1000 years or more, to around the 10th century!
Their varying sizes and hues create a captivating, ever-changing visual appeal.
The plump silver beads nestled between the old Tibetan turquoise and ancient agate are exceptionally rare old Chin silver. These are heirloom pieces from the 18th to 19th century, originating from Burma.
Traditionally used by Chin women for necklaces and adornments, they bear a unique patina and endearing marks of wear. Their substantial feel and presence are incomparable to modern silver (though some modern pieces are also quite stylish...). These antique beads have seen a significant price increase in recent years.
The golden beads and the anchor-like charm beside the ancient agate are made from old Orissa brass. These are old and rare beads sourced from the state of Orissa in India.
The charm near the clasp is also old brass, arriving from India.
Each Karen silver bead is individually stamped!
The intricate handiwork involved is truly astounding.
The gracefully curved clasp is also crafted from Karen silver.
◇ Karen Silver ◇
This silver is produced by the hill tribes residing in Thailand and Burma.
Each piece is handmade, and it is said to possess a very high purity.
The bracelet is strung with waxed cord, which may feel slightly stiff initially but will become supple with wear.
This bracelet is designed with a sophisticated palette, connecting materials that create an elegantly understated aesthetic.
Customizations for size and design are welcome!!
