It requires soaking to remove this sizing. Here are a few methods for denim beginners, and feel free to message us with any questions. Keep ‘Em Rigid (No Wash): This method means "no washing." By avoiding water, the sizing remains intact, and the denim won't shrink from washing, preserving its original rugged spirit. Hot Water Soak (2-3% Shrinkage): Soak in approximately 40°C hot water for 40 minutes. Do not spin dry or sun dry. Wear the jeans when they are 90% dry, and let them air dry in a cool place afterward. Room Temperature Water Soak (Less Shrinkage): Soak in room temperature water for 40 minutes. Hang to drip dry inside out, without spinning or sun drying. Wear the jeans directly after, and let them air dry in a cool place afterward. Aggressive Soak Method (Maximum Shrinkage): If the size is too large, this method can be used. Machine wash once in room temperature water, spin dry once, and air dry in a cool place. (Shrinkage is proportional to water temperature) Jeans will still feel stiff after the initial sizing removal. It is recommended to wear them when they are 90% dry to avoid them becoming too tight. Don't worry if they feel a bit snug at first; they will gradually conform to your body shape and become much more comfortable with wear. Different brands, conditions, and individual practices can lead to varying shrinkage rates.
