**◈ A Word from the Designer**
Since ancient times, emperors have offered sacrifices to the heavens with lapis lazuli, for its azure hue resembles the sky, leading people to believe it is a gemstone that connects to the divine. The ancient Egyptians also believed it could communicate with the other world.
This piece features carefully selected lapis lazuli, showcasing a natural interplay of deep blues, calcite whites, and pyrite golds. The blue is exceptionally pure and commanding, while the white and gold elements create a unique, distinctive style. The gemstone beads are large, round, and elegant, complemented by auspicious enamel charms—a bat symbolizing good fortune and an endless knot representing longevity and prosperity. The overall effect is one of magnificent opulence and extraordinary grandeur.
**This is a one-of-a-kind piece, awaiting its destined owner—a connoisseur of grandeur and good fortune—to cherish.**
**Lapis Lazuli**
Ancient texts record the use of lapis lazuli in China as early as five thousand years ago, and even earlier in Egypt, around eight thousand years ago. Throughout Chinese dynasties, emperors used lapis lazuli for sky rituals, believing its blue color, reminiscent of the heavens, allowed for a connection to the divine. The Egyptians, too, saw it as a conduit to the afterlife.
The finest lapis lazuli globally originates from Afghanistan. Afghan lapis lazuli is renowned for its rich, commanding color, earning it the moniker "Imperial Blue."
When selecting lapis lazuli, look for a beautiful natural distribution of blue, white (calcite), and gold (pyrite) inclusions. As lapis lazuli is formed near the earth's surface and has porous qualities, it is advisable to avoid prolonged contact with water. Regular conditioning with mineral oil is recommended.
**Cloisonné (Champlevé Enamel)**
Cloisonné, scientifically known as copper-inlaid enamel, has its roots in the ancient Near East. As early as the 19th century BCE, ancient Egyptian pharaohs crafted necklaces using this technique, often incorporating precious gems. The Eastern Roman Empire further refined this craft to exceptional heights. It was introduced to China during the Yuan Dynasty and reached its zenith during the Ming Dynasty's Jingtai reign, from which it derives its name, "Jingtai Blue."
Exquisite cloisonné pieces boast luminous, vibrant colors, a substantial and solid base, neatly arranged enameled wires, and brilliant gold plating, achieving the lustrous warmth of jade, the sparkle of jewels, and the delicate refinement of porcelain. Consequently, the cloisonné process is intricate and costly.

**◈ Care and Collection**
1. Natural gemstones possess inherent luster and unique textures, which may include subtle imperfections such as minor inclusions, crystal lines, internal fractures, cloudy patterns, mineral flaws, or asymmetry. With regular wear, you will observe subtle color shifts in natural gemstones, often becoming more translucent and captivating—this is the best form of care.
Natural organic gemstones (such as coral, amber, pearls, and giant clams) have lower hardness and are sensitive to acids and alkalis. When cleaning, avoid detergents; rinse with clean water and wipe with a soft cloth. For gentle maintenance, a soft brush can be used with a small amount of mineral oil (like baby oil).
2. Metal jewelry has a long lifespan, but should be protected from external force or strong acids/alkalis that could cause fading.
3. Fabric components (ribbons, cotton, gauze) are soft and comfortable, offering extended wear, but should be kept away from high temperatures, external force, or strong acids/alkalis that could cause fading.
4. For any jewelry, when soiled, gently wipe with a soft cloth dampened with water. For suitable materials, a small amount of neutral detergent may be used. After washing, ensure the item is dried promptly.
5. When not in use, store jewelry in a well-sealed container to minimize air exposure, slow oxidation and discoloration, and prevent overlapping or crushing.
