Coin rings are generally made from three types of materials: Silver coins / Copper coins / Copper-nickel alloy coins Copper Coins - These tend to oxidize and discolor easily upon contact with air. When a coin with high copper content touches the skin, a dark ring might form on the finger where it's worn. This can be removed by taking off the ring and washing your hands. Copper-Nickel Alloy Coins - These have a lower copper content, so the phenomenon of a dark ring on the finger is less common than with pure copper rings. Silver Coins - These have a higher silver content and are less prone to the issues mentioned above. However, silver coins are rarer in the market, and some are quite old, offering fewer choices. This also makes them more expensive!
