Flower Plover Brooch (Mustard)

The plover, often featured in the Manyoshu, appears to be a small bird cherished by people since ancient times. The plover pattern itself has long been popular, even to this day, as an auspicious motif, playing on the phrase "taking a thousand blessings." We've created a "flower plover" brooch by adapting a traditional Japanese plover silhouette and overlaying it with a floral design. Available in three autumnal earth tones—blue, mustard, and gray—along with two pastel shades of purple and green. (This listing is for the mustard color.) The flowers are depicted with simple line art in a retro color palette. This blend of Japanese and Western aesthetics, reminiscent of Showa-era modernism, evokes a nostalgic charm that is sophisticatedly cute. We've used a locking rotating pin for added security, making it less likely to fall off. The brooch is formed by hardening original illustrations with a combination of elastic and rigid resins. We use a more flexible resin for delicate areas and fine tips to prevent breakage and snagging during use, so please understand that these parts are intentionally softer. Finally, a glossy finish with UV-protective coating is applied, resulting in a lightweight and lustrous brooch.
