P & F Ceramic Designs does not pursue mass production. Each creation is born from a unique concept and design, with the hand-pinching or wheel-throwing process breathing life into the piece. Every item is one-of-a-kind. Our works are created together as a couple, hence the signatures "Ping" or "Fan." Some pieces also feature the "P & F Ceramic Designs" studio mark. Truly unique!!

**1. What is the origin of the works?**
We primarily use American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay from Taiwan for our creations.

**2. What is the wood-firing process?**
We mix American clay, Japanese clay, and Miaoli clay in various proportions. The forming process is entirely by hand (not on a potter's wheel), shaping the piece slowly. After basic forming, the body's lines are refined, then polished to complete the greenware.
Once in the kiln, it undergoes a five-day, four-night continuous wood-firing process using natural longan and acacia wood. The temperature reaches over 1200 degrees Celsius. During this time, natural ash deposits adhere to the work, forming a unique ash glaze. Simultaneously, the kiln's flames flow between the pieces, creating beautiful orange-red or blue-purple flame marks.
After five days and four nights of ash and flame interaction, a week of cooling is required before a piece achieves its beautiful form! Because the kiln atmosphere differs with each firing, the ash deposits and flame marks on every piece are unique, making each work truly one-of-a-kind!

**3. What should our esteemed guests be aware of?**
Product colors may vary slightly due to photographic lighting. As each piece is purely handmade, it will bear the marks of the crafting process. Minor variations may also occur during firing, such as slight imperfections in the rim or small scratches from the making process. These are normal and do not affect usability. We appreciate your understanding!
