This is an SDGs jewelry piece featuring kintsugi, upcycled from Arita ware. We reuse pottery that is broken, chipped, or no longer in use, and apply kintsugi to transform them into accessories. Our concept is to make nature and Japan's enduring traditions accessible, breathing new life into them as modern accessories that connect to the future, creating new possibilities. We have combined two elegant Japanese patterned pottery fragments with freshwater pearls. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to stand out even from the side, creating a refined look. The included chain is a surgical stainless steel chain with 18K coating, making it resistant to tarnishing and gentle on the skin, thus allergy-friendly. The chain length is 40cm + 5cm adjuster. This work uses a modern, simplified kintsugi technique. Unlike traditional lacquer made from the sap of the lacquer tree, we use new lacquer, which is less likely to cause irritation, and gold powder (brass powder).
