The picture book "What is This?" is based on the puppetry work "Stories of Seasonal Fruits - Summer Chapter," developed by Ganjiaren in 2021. The core theme revolves around Taiwanese fruits and seasons, exploring creation from various angles such as fruits and land, and memories, depicting the essence of each season. Just as the name "Ganjiaren" (meaning children) suggests, we hope to maintain a childlike innocence and curiosity. We experiment with various forms of objects, light and shadow, and puppetry, fully exploring everyday details as creative material to expand the imagination and innovation of objects. A graduate of the Visual Illustration Master's program at the University of the Arts London, she focuses on food, environmental sustainability, and natural seasons, using illustration and collage as vehicles for communication. Her work has been shortlisted for the V&A Illustration Award in the UK (2019) and the 3x3 International Illustration Awards in the USA.
