Original floral embroidery, created in a factory in Kiryu City, Gunma Prefecture—a renowned hub for Japanese embroidery—has been meticulously transformed into charming earrings (posts and clip-ons) by our designer. The motifs are made by machine-embroidering onto a water-soluble film, which is then dissolved, leaving only the embroidery threads. As there is no fabric used, the earrings are incredibly light, weighing just 3g per pair including the hardware, ensuring comfortable wear with minimal strain on the ears. (3g is equivalent to the weight of three one-yen coins). The thread motifs are translucent in sunlight, gently swaying in the breeze with a delicate lightness, adding a touch of elegance to your visage. The flowers are inspired by the California poppy, which blooms vibrantly along roadsides and in open fields in early spring. Although an introduced species and considered a weed, its vivid form dancing in the wind evokes a sense of seasonal change. This striking vermilion red hue, perfect as an accent for any outfit, is a consistently popular color in our in-person sales and at retail locations. The rayon threads used have a lustrous sheen, reminiscent of silk. The center of the flower features lamé thread, adding a sophisticated sparkle.
