Koma Awase Two-Pen Fountain Pen Case - Color Customization

The pen case showcased is made from "Rugato" leather in blue, sourced from Tannery Mazur, a Belgian tannery established in 1873. "Rugato," produced through traditional vegetable tanning, is characterized by its translucent depth and natural color variations. The distinctive deep wrinkles, known as "tora," inherent to shoulder leather, are beautifully emphasized as a striking pattern. While not listed in the color samples, Rugato is also available in navy and purple. This fountain pen case is crafted using "Koma Awase," a hand-sewing technique that cannot be replicated by machine. Inside, a cylindrical divider creates space for two fountain pens, accommodating those with a maximum barrel diameter of approximately 16mm and a maximum length of 155mm (excluding the clip). The example in the image holds a Montblanc 146 and a Pelikan M800. The inside of the flap is lined with soft-touch suede. The pictured Rugato leather, with its rich color variations and "tora" markings, is aniline-dyed, allowing for subtle changes in hue over time. We hope you will enjoy watching it age gracefully.
