Vegetable-tanned leather is known for its firm and durable texture. The surface color gradually darkens. Combined with the natural oils from your hands and the friction from daily use, it develops a lustrous patina. This allows leather goods made from vegetable-tanned leather to transform uniquely with time and usage, becoming a testament to the wearer's journey. Leather is a byproduct of the livestock industry. Therefore, farmers do not necessarily prioritize protecting the cattle's skin. Consequently, during their lives, cattle may sustain marks from insect bites, scratches, or thorns. Free-roaming cattle may also bear brands, and as they grow, their skin develops natural lines and wrinkles. In cases of difficult birth for cows, there may be scarring from surgical procedures. When cattle are slaughtered for meat, the process of skinning can also leave marks. These natural imperfections are faithfully preserved in the leather when it is processed, bearing witness to the animal's life. The resulting text will appear as a burnt, dark mark. Therefore, this service cannot be applied to dark-colored leathers such as black, dark blue, etc. ▴ Some items require laser engraving before production. Ready-made items cannot be laser engraved and will require separate scheduling. Please contact customer service for production timelines when selecting this service. 🌞 Care and Maintenance -------------------- Frequent use is the best form of maintenance. Avoid exposing the leather to humid environments. If the leather accidentally gets wet, wipe it immediately with a dry cloth and allow it to air dry in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this can harden and damage the leather. Once dry, you can apply leather conditioner to replenish its oils. You can also spray it with a waterproofing agent to protect against accidental spills and enhance surface protection. For storage or prolonged periods of non-use, place the leather item in an electronic dehumidifying cabinet, maintaining humidity between 50% and 60% to prevent mold, or use a sealed bag with a desiccant for a similar effect. Cowhide is not excessively processed or coated with heavy surface finishes, so slight color variations, textures, and minor scratches are natural. If you require a perfectly flawless leather surface, it may be difficult to meet this expectation, and requests for "flawless leather" cannot be accommodated. Furthermore, once personalization (such as engraving or laser etching) has been applied, returns will not be accepted unless there was a production error.
