Crucially, the vintage model is crafted from exceptionally soft lambskin or supple cowhide – genuine top-grain leather! Modern versions utilize stiff, chrome-tanned cowhide. The tactile difference alone is incomparable; the vintage piece offers a superior feel. The front and back of the bag show only minimal signs of use, with no noticeable scratches or scuffs. The marks are fine lines on the leather, with no peeling or damage. It possesses a natural sheen. Even upon close inspection, there are no obvious flaws. The base, corners, and edges are free from significant scratches, scuffs, or wear; even the tips of the corners are unworn and intact. Most importantly, the large logo shows no signs of detachment or loose stitching. The logo area is exceptionally full, with the black stitching making it prominent yet discreet. Both flap closures function perfectly. The hardware rings at the top of the bag where the chain passes through are clean and a rich golden hue, with only light signs of use. The gold chain is original, clean, and shows very minimal signs of wear. The entire chain is made of brass (a quality found in vintage pieces!), with no noticeable discoloration, oxidation, or gold loss. The chain can be detached and is adjustable.
