Pottery Brooch: Blue Sky Soft Serve

Crafting Process: Starting with a sketch, the clay is shaped and allowed to dry slightly before repeated adjustments. We create enough pieces to fill the kiln evenly over about a month. Bisque firing takes 7 hours, after which the pieces are wiped with water. Glazing is applied individually before the main firing, which lasts 12 hours. Some pieces receive a gold glaze and are fired again for another 7 hours. As they require slow cooling, we wait about two days after each firing before removing them from the kiln. Finally, each piece is inspected, and a pin is attached to those that meet our standards. Currently, our success rate is around 70%. Although this process requires significant time and effort, the result is a decorative brooch that combines the tactile feel of clay, the durability of pottery, the luster of glaze, and the sparkle of gold accents. We believe this is an item that can be cherished for a long time, unchanged.
